Private Sector Project - DeForest Yards

Cascade Development has received final approval from the Village for a mixed-use project in the Savannah Brooks Planned Unit Development (PUD) that is intended to create a destination-type development combining retail, dining, recreation and residential uses into a vibrant amenity for the DeForest community.

June 6, 2023: Cascade Development Concept Presentation at Village Board Meeting, 6pm
Cascade Development first introduced the proposed concept at a publicly held Village Board meeting.

August 7, 2023: Savannah Brooks Neighborhood Input Meeting, 6pm
Cascade Development and Village of DeForest staff held a presentation and Q&A session, inviting residents of DeForest and the Savannah Brooks neighborhood to provide feedback on the proposal.

September 26, 2023: Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to review PDP amendment, 6pm

An amendment to the PDP will be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission. A Public Hearing on the proposed amendment will also be held for members of the public to provide additional feedback and input.

October 3, 2023: Village Board Meeting to potentially review PDP amendment, 6pm
If the DeForest Planning and Zoning Commission makes a positive recommendation on the PDP Amendment, the DeForest Village Board will subsequently review the PDP. All Village Board meetings begin with an opportunity for members of the public to speak.

October 24, 2023: Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to review Final Development Plan (FDP) and CSM, 6pm

An amendment to the FDP and a proposed Certified Survey Map (CSM) will potentially be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

November 21, 2023: Village Board meeting to approve CSM and Development Agreement, 6pm

The DeForest Planning and Zoning Commission approved the Final Development Plan (FDP) and made a positive recommendation on the Certified Survey Map (CSM) to the DeForest Village Board. All Village Board meetings begin with an opportunity for members of the public to speak.

December 11, 2023: Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to review Site Plan Application, 6pm

The DeForest Planning and Zoning Commission gave conditional approval of the Site Plan for DeForest Yards. The development team must satisfy the conditions of approval in order to move forward with the project.
Timeline item 8 - active

February 23, 2024: Early Start Permit Issued

Early Start Permit issued for grading, footings, foundation and plumbing.
