Next Steps

If a financing agreement is reached, it is anticipated that WisDOT will let and manage the construction of the Interchange Project. WisDOT will require State/Municipal Agreement which will hold the Village financially responsible as the owner of the project. In turn the Village will rely on a downstream development agreement with Buc-ees to cover any additional costs beyond the Village’s contribution.

There is no set deadline for this project currently. Before this project can move to construction, it must work through WisDOT’s project for permitting, which includes public participation.

Separately, the Developer will be required to reapply for a conditional use permit since the permit has now expired. The site development will likely require additional infrastructure improvements along CTH I (which are not included in the Interchange Reconstruction Project) and a separate development agreement and permits. The conditional use permit application will also require a public hearing.
